Accreditations by DNV GL

St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC) has earned the NIAHO (National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations) Hospital Accreditation by DNV GL Healthcare by demonstrating compliance with national standards for healthcare quality and safety.

SJMC is also a designated Primary Stroke Center by DNV GL, which indicates we are committed to providing a multidisciplinary stroke program for all patients that present with the signs and symptoms of a stroke or experience a stroke within our facility. We adhere to strict guidelines that assist in the improvement of stroke prevention measures through education, and evidence-based practices for treatment and rehabilitation.

Seeking accreditation by DNV GL demonstrates our commitment to providing quality care to our patients. Meeting national standards stimulates continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in performance and the outcomes of care.

SJMC is also an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SPCP). This accreditation signifies that SJMC has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care for those that present with a heart attack or symptoms, by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and undergoing an onsite review by a team of SCPC’s accreditation review specialists.

2016 Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for its Get With The Guidelines® (GWTG) – Stroke Program

  • This is the highest achievement awarded by the associations in recognition of a commitment to provide quality stroke care.
  • Hospitals must achieve 85% or higher for all GWTG indicators for two or more consecutive 12-month periods and achieve 75% or higher compliance with five of eight program measures
