The Importance of Primary Care: Meet Dr. Aparasu

The best prescription for good health is building a long-term and ongoing relationship with a primary care physician. Studies have shown significant health benefits result when adults see a primary care doctor – such as an internal medicine physician – on an annual basis.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases. The benefit provided by an internal medicine physician is called continuity of care. The physician gets to know patients, their health goals, manages chronic conditions, and provides referrals to specialists when required.

Anuradha Aparasu, M.D. is on the medical staff of St. Joseph Medical Center and specializes in internal medicine. She has more than 22 years of experience. A graduate of Osmania Medical College, Osmania University, she completed her residency at University of South Dakota School of Medicine.
