St. Joseph Medical Center Receives Five-Star Recognition from Healthgrades for the Seventh Consecutive Year
For seven consecutive years, Healthgrades, a leading resource that connects consumers, physicians, and health systems, has recognized St. Joseph Medical Center as a five-star recipient for excellence in vaginal delivery in 2021. The Healthgrades five-star rating indicates that the clinical outcomes for vaginal delivery at St. Joseph Medical Center are statistically better than expected.
Known for many years as “Houston’s Baby Hospital” and the birthplace of one in three Houstonians, the acknowledgment reflects St. Joseph Medical Center’s continued commitment to delivering exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
“This recognition is a testament to the team’s dedication of continually improving processes to provide the best possible outcomes for women and their babies,” said Jackie Lawson, Director of the Women’s Services at St. Joseph Medical Center. “We take tremendous pride in offering both a safe and compassionate environment for the labor and delivery experience, and we’re proud to be recognized for these efforts.”
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, parents are putting an increased emphasis on hospital standards and how they play a role in selecting a place to deliver their children.
“Hospital quality should be top of mind for consumers when they evaluate and compare hospital performance,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “Women who select a hospital with a five-star rating can feel confident in their choice knowing that these organizations are committed to providing exceptional women’s care to their patients.”
Lawson said she and her team are grateful to the women and their families who select St. Joseph Medical Center for a safe and pleasant childbirth experience.
